Week two was not all that friendly to us as the Florida State Seminoles were blown out from that start against the Oklahoma Sooners (at least we didn’t put $27.500 on the game), and the Miami Hurricanes fell just short of covering their +9 spread.  However, we did manage to cash in on the Michigan Wolverines, who not only covered the +3.5-point spread, but won outright.  With a few weeks under our belt, we are hoping that things will only get easier from here on in, but as we all know, that is never the case with gambling.

Here is a look at how we see things turning out in week three.

Game: (12) Arkansas at  Georgia
Spread: Georgia -2.5
Pick: Arkansas
Reason: The Razorbacks offense is led by Heisman candidate quarterback Ryan Mallett, who should be able to take advantage of a Bulldogs secondary that has three new starters.  Georgia won last year’s match-up by a score of 52-41, but with freshman QB Aaron Murray now running the Bulldogs offense, expect Arkansas to surrender fewer points while scoring more of their own.  The Razorbacks not only cover the spread, but win this one outright.

Game: (9) Iowa at (24) Arizona
Spread: Arizona -1
Pick: Arizona
Reason: In perhaps the most intriguing match-up of the weekend, the Iowa Hawkeyes will travel to Tuscon, Arizona to take on the Wildcats.  Quarterback Nick Foles has made Arizona U relevant again in the football world and this should be the toughest test he faces.  We expect Foles to put up some points, but a strong Iowa front line will make things difficult for him at times.  In the end, expect this to be a close game with the Wildcats using their home-field advantage to come out on top.

Game: Air Force at (7) Oklahoma
Spread: Oklahoma -16.5
Pick: Oklahoma
Reason: Last week the Sooners were able to blow out a talented Florida State team at home by a score of 47-17, and things could have been worse if the Sooners didn’t take their foot off the gas pedal after leading 34-7 at the half.  If they can do that to a ranked team like the Seminoles, there is little reason to believe that they are not capable of the same type of effort against a mediocre Air Force team.  Look for a big win from the Sooners in this one.

Current Record: 1-2 (Last Week: 1-2)
