2010 NCAA College Football Pick’em: Week 3
When a team lines up in field-goal formation, many viewers take that as a cue to change the channel. However, those who decided to put the remote control down for a few more seconds this weekend were rewarded with some strategically used timeouts, and this amazing trick-play during overtime of Michigan State’s game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
After the Irish kicked a field goal on their opening drive of overtime, the Spartans appeared to be lining up in an attempt to tie the game and send it into a second overtime, but Spartans’ coach Mark Dantonio wasn’t interested in playing another overtime period. He wanted to go home, and this play would end up sending both himself, his players, and the Michigan State fans home with a smile.
The look on the face of Irish coach Brian Kelly says it all.
