Frozen Fisticuffs Fight Of The Night – Iginla And Dorsett Do Battle – 10/22/10
Derek Dorsett isn’t really a candidate to score many hat-tricks in his career, but he is capable of posting a Gordie Howe hat-trick every once in a while. Last night he was looking to do just that with the Calgary Flames in town to take on his Columbus Blue Jackets.
Immediately after scoring a goal in the first period, Dorsett found a dance partner in Flames’ captain Jarome Iginla. The two dropped their gloves and threw a few fists at one another before going to the ground. With a goal and a fight already recorded for Dorsett through one period, he was well on his way towards getting himself a Gordie Howe hat-trick. However, he would eventually fall just short as he failed to record an assist.
He may not have earned that elusive Gordie Howe hat-trick, but what Dorsett did earn was our “Frozen Fisticuffs Fight of the Night” for Friday, October 22, 2010.
