Mississippi High School Coach Caught Whipping His Players (Video)
A Mississippi high school basketball coach was so old school that he took it upon himself to actually whip his players at practice.
Apparently he’s so old school that he doesn’t realize most people aged 12 and older have cell phones. Cell phones with cameras. That capture video. Oops.
His name is Marlon Dorsey and that strap you see him whacking his players’ booties with is a weightlifting belt. He said that he did it to improve their attitudes. Silly me — I thought running laps or benching players would take care of that.
In a statement, Dorsey said, “I took it upon myself to save these young men from the destruction of self and what society has accepted and become silent to the issues our students are facing on a daily basis. I am deeply remorseful of my actions to help our students.” Which really reads: “I’m sorry somebody captured this on video.”
Parents are suing the coach and the school and probably also the crossing guard and the lunch lady. Lawsuits are nice, but I think if someone whipped my kid I’d probably be doing some whipping back. This guy is about as smart as the Jersey guy that freaked on the skater, or the guy that tackled his own teammate.
