Do You Love Your Team This Much? (Video)
When it comes to hockey fans, they don’t get much bigger than the ones found in Canada. Such a statement is tough to argue with, but the fans of Djurgården are giving us reason to believe that perhaps we should not be so quick to overlook the fans in Sweden.
During a recent Swedish Elite League match, the Djurgården fans paid tribute to their team’s 30th anniversary with a tifo that displayed the words “Blue Saints” and “Järnkaminerna”, the names of the team’s two fan clubs. And if that wasn’t enough, as the two teams lined up at their respective blue lines, a transparent banner was raised with the logo of the team in the middle and the two fan clubs on each side.
Not only was the scene capable of giving any player goosebumps, but it also has us questioning exactly which country reigns supreme when it comes to die-hard hockey fans. I think I’d still have to stick with the Canadians on this one.
