This Day In Sports History (January 21st) – Super Bowl XIII
Remember Tomas Jurco? He is the kid that took the 2011 CHL Top Prospects Skills Competition by storm with an assortment of unbelievably creative shootout moves. Well it appears as though that performance left many people asking the question, “What gives Tomas?”
Jurco was kind enough to answer that question (lots of practice in the basement, plenty of puck marks on the wall and an angry mother) and showed off several more of his tricks while doing so. Watching him will have you believing gravity does not exist on his stick.
The right winger for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL is expected to go either late in the first round or early in the second round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. However, any team who believes a shootout specialist is a key commodity in the current NHL may want to think about reaching a little earlier for Jurco, rather than waiting until it is too late.
