The Stat Line Of The Night – 2/2/11 – Johan Franzen
The Stat Line Of The Night — 2/3/11 — LeBron James
At the beginning of the season the Miami Heat made it known to all that they are looking to win a Championship. In order to do so, they will likely have to go through the Orlando Magic at some point during their playoff run. That made last night’s meeting between the two teams that much more interesting as the Heat were looking to make a statement during their visit to the Amway Center, and they did just that thanks to a brilliant all-around performance from LeBron James.
LeBron’s 51 points, which is an NBA season-best, was easily the most impressive number on his stat line, which also included 11 rebounds, 8 assists, one steal and one blocked shot. It was clear that James had the hot-hand for the Heat, as no other player on their team scored over 14 points, but they wouldn’t need to. Despite giving up a late run to the Magic and being outscored by 12 in the final quarter, the Heat were able to hang on for the 104-100 victory.
The Following stat comes via STATS LLC and NBA.com: In the past 25 years, the only other player to record at least 50 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists was Michael Jordan back on January 21, 1989 against the Phoenix Suns. It is stuff like that which make LeBron an easy choice for “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, February 3, 2011.
