8-Year-Old Anthem Singer Elizabeth Hughes Gets A Second Chance (Video)
Less than a month ago, 8-year-old Elizabeth Hughes stepped onto the ice before a Norfolk Admirals game to share her angelic voice with those in attendance as she sang the American national anthem. However, her performance would be cut short, thanks to a faulty microphone. No worries though. The crowd was there to step in where the mic left off, helping young Elizabeth through the final few lines.
Well Elizabeth is back by popular demand, and this time there would be no microphone malfunction to ruin her moment in the spotlight.
With her friends and family in the crowd for Saturday night’s Admirals home game, Elizabeth took advantage of her shot at redemption with another amazing rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner.” She would also perform the ceremonial opening puck drop and was given a signed Admirals jersey. And now she appears to be headed for even bigger things, as she is expected to perform at the Tampa Bay Lightning’s home game on February 17 against the Detroit Red Wings.
So it appears as though Elizabeth was given a second chance. How long do you think it will take before Christina Aguilera gets hers?
