On this day, those birds would be the Louisville Cardinals’ mascot and their head coach Rick Pitino. After a stellar season and a strong run in the Big East Tournament, the Cards bowed out to Morehead State in the opening round of what was expected to be a long and successful NCAA Tournament for Pitino’s squad.
