The Daily Gambling Fix 3/18/11 — Holly Rose
The Game: Washington Capitals @ New Jersey Devils
The Reason: Two teams who have been playing some of the best defense in the league as of late hook up tonight when the Devils take on the Caps in New Jersey. Over the course of the past two months (21 games( the Devils have gone over the 5-goal total twice. In the same amount of games, the Caps have gone over only five times. Expect these a low scoring game from these two that should stay under the 5-goal total.
The Game: Akron vs. Notre Dame
The Reason: The Irish could have easily been awarded a No. 1 seed in this tournament as they were among the class of the Big East all season, finishing just one game back of Pitt for top spot during Conference play. They would bow out to Louisville in the second round of the Big East Tournament, but that should give them some rest heading into today’s game against an Arkon team that finished an unimpressive 9-7 in the MAC Conference. Prior to their loss to Louisville, Notre Dame had won 12 of its previous 13 games. Not an easy feat in the Big East. Look for them to roll over their much lesser opponents today.
