The Daily Gambling Fix 3/24/11 — Lisa Ann
The Game: Arizona vs. Duke
The Reason: Duke is a great team with plenty of depth and one of the greatest coaches in college basketball history, but they were barely able to get by a mediocre Michigan team and will be in tough tonight against the Pac-10′s best in Arizona. The Wildcats have already played in two close thrillers as tough teams as they escaped with victories against Memphis and Texas. With this game taking place in Anaheim, look for them to have plenty of support in the stands, as they should keep it close enough to cover the 8.5-point spread. You may also want to take a look at them straight up at +400.
The Game: Butler vs. Wisconsin
The Reason: Being assigned an eight seed in the tournament, many people forgot that Butler did manage to make it to last year’s NCAA Tournament finals and were inches away from wining it all. It may not be the same team this time around, but you couldn’t tell following their first two victories over Old Dominion and number-one ranked Pittsburgh. Now they will take on a Wisconsin team that put together impressive wins against Belmont and Kansas State, but we’ll go with the Bulldogs’ experience in this game, as they will keep things close and not only cover the spread, but win the game.
