Dejan Stankovic Scores From Midfield 20 Seconds Into UCL Match (Video)

Inter Milan had a dream start to yesterday’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against Schalke at the San Siro.  Only 20 seconds after kickoff, midfielder Dejan Stankovic gave the home side the early lead when he volleyed a clearance attempt by Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer over everyone’s head and into the net from the halfway line.

Unfortunately for Stankovic and Inter, things would only go downhill from there as they allowed Schalke to score five away goals, en route to the 5-2 loss.  It was a crushing defeat that will almost certainly end the Italian club’s bid for back-to-back UCL titles, but at least they were able to send their fans home with one fond memory.

Here it is.
