The Daily Gambling Fix 4/12/11 — Claudia Sempedro
The Game: Philadelphia Phillies @ Washington Nationals
The Reason: The Phillies bats are off to a solid start to the season, as they are averaging an impressive 6.56 runs per game. Both teams have gone over the total in seven of their nine games this season, and they have gone over the total in 9 of their last 11 meetings in Washington. Blanton and Hernandez are certainly capable of giving up their fair share of runs. Look for these two teams to put up more than eight runs tonight.
The Game: Toronto Blue Jays @ Seattle Mariners
The Reason: The Jays appeared to be poised for a victory last night against Seattle, but they couldn’t hold on to a 7-0 lead after their bullpen imploded in the later innings of the game. Don’t look for that to be an issue tonight, as they send their ace, Ricky Romero, to the mound. He should be able to go deep, leaving the possibility of another bullpen collapse out of the question, as the Jays move back above the .500 mark with a win.
2011 Record: (72-59-2), This Week: (1-1), Last Week: (8-2)
