The Stat Line Of The Night — 4/19/11 — Dave Bolland

Facing a must-win situation, the Chicago Blackhawks welcomed Dave Bolland back to their line-up for the first time since he sustained a concussion six weeks ago.  His return would prove to be a triumphant one, as his incredible effort helped keep the Hawks’ season alive.

Bolland made his mark on a series against the Canucks last playoffs by shutting down the Sedin twins.  This time around the Canucks may want to try and find someone to shut down Bolland.  The 24-year-old center was a force to be reckoned with, recording points on four of the Blackhawks first five goals of the game.  By the time he finished setting up Michael Frolik’s breakaway goal late in the second period, Chicago had established themselves a comfortable 5-1 lead.  They would go on to win the game by a score of 7-2.

Bolland may have only played in one game thus far in the 2011 playoffs, but his one goal and three assists are good enough to tie him with Michael Frolik for the most points among all Blackhawks players.  Whether his return to the line-up will be enough to lead his team back from a 3-0 series deficit remains to be seen, but his performance last night was enough to earn him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, April 19, 2011.
