The Daily Gambling Fix 5/10/11 — Jennie Reid
The Game: Philadelphia Phillies @ Florida Marlins
The Reason: The Phillies have owned the Marlins as of late, winning eight of the last nine meeting between the two teams. Roy Halladay will take the mound for the Phillies, and he has won four of his last five starts against the fish. As for the Marlins starter, Josh Johnson, he has won only one of his last four starts against the Phils. Looks for Philadelphia to continue their winning ways and take tonight’s game on the road.
The Game: San Jose Sharks @ Detroit Red Wings
The Reason: After watching each of the first two games in this series go under the total, both the Wings and the Sharks have gone on the offensive and combined to score a total of 21 goals in the last three games (seven in each of them). The Wings seem to have solved Antti Neimi, while the Sharks continue to pepper Jimmy Howard with shots, and have had success getting a few of them past him. With the Wings’ playoff lives on the line tonight, look for another high-scoring affair to unfold as both teams will display their excessive firepower once again.
