The Daily Gambling Fix 5/11/11 — Hannah Macintosh
The Game: Memphis Grizzlies @ Oklahoma City Thunder
The Reason: Eight of the last nine meetings between these two teams have gone over the total, including the last five in a row in Oklahoma City. When the Thunder are hot, they can score points at a rather impressive rate, and the Grizzlies have shown throughout this series that they do possess the ability to keep up with OKC’s scoring. That is reason enough for us to believe that this game will go over the total.
The Game: Boston Red Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays
The Reason: When the Blue Jays host the Red Sox tonight, two pitchers with rather unimpressive ERAs will take the mound. For the Sox, it will be John Lackey, whose current ERA is a terrible 7.16. He has also allowed a total of 23 runs against in his last 23 innings against the Jays. And for Toronto, it will be Jesse Litsch, who has a 4.04 ERA and has allowed 12 runs against in his last 18 1/3 innings against the Red Sox. Look for plenty of runs to be scored in the Rogers Center tonight, as this game should go well over the total.
