The Daily Gambling Fix 5/16/11 — Natache Peyre
The Game: Florida Marlins @ New York Mets
The Reason: Marlins starter Josh Johnson is 3-1 on the season with a 1.63 ERA, and is 7-1 with a 2.74 ERA over the last five years against the Mets. As for the Mets starter, Mike Pelfrey, he is 3-3 with a 5.74 ERA this season, and 1-6 with a 5.32 ERA in his last five seasons against the Marlins. The edge on the mound is clearly with Florida in this game. Look for them to win by at least two tonight in New York.
The Game: Cleveland Indians @ Kansas City Royals
The Reason: Kansas City starter Kyle Davies has failed to record a win in his last five starts. One of those include a loss to the Indians, where he allowed eight runs in 3 1/3 innings. He is 1-5 on the season with an ERA of 7.08. Look for the Indians’ bats to take advantage, as Cleveland starter Josh Tomlin (4-1, 2.70 ERA this season) should do enough to get his team the win on the road tonight.
2011 Record: (91-85-3), Last Week: (2-8)
