The Daily Gambling Fix 5/18/11 — Jennifer Nicole Lee
The Game: Miami Heat @ Chicago Bulls
The Reason: The Bulls showed in Game One that they are capable of playing solid team defense and shutting down LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. With the win, the Bulls have now taken the last four games against the Heat, covering the spread in each of those contests. Look for them to sweep the first two games at home as they should come away with a victory tonight at the United Center, and cover the 2.5-point spread in the process.
The Game: Cleveland Indians @ Chicago White Sox
The Reason: The Indians are 26-13 this season, while the Sox are 18-25. Indians starting pitcher Justin Masterson has a 5-1 record and a 2.73 ERA. Sox starter Jake Peavy has a 6.00 ERA. Masterson has allowed only one run in four of his last five starts against the Indians. As for Peavy, his team has lost his last five starts against Cleveland. Notice a trend here? Take the Indians in this game.
2011 Record: (93-87-3), This Week: (2-2)Last Week: (2-8)
