The Daily Gambling Fix 5/20/11 — Emmaly
The Game: Oakland A’s @ San Francisco Giants
The Reason: Two of the league’s lowest scoring teams face off in San Francisco tonight when the Giants take on the A’s at AT&T Park. The Giants are averaging only 3.56 runs per game, while the A’s are only slightly better at 3.73. If that wasn’t enough of a reason to like the under, the starting pitchers should do the trick. Cahill will go for the A’s, as he is 6-1 on the season with a 1.82 ERA, while Vogelsong will put his 3-0 record and 2.86 ERA on the line for the Giants. All signs point to under in this game, so we are going to follow those signs and take it.
The Game: Texas Rangers @ Philadelphia Phillies
The Reason: The Rangers have gone under in five of their last seven games, while the Phillies have watched their game-total go under in four of their past five. Both teams are also missing some key offensive players, as the Rangers are without Josh Hamilton, while Shane Victorino and Chase Utley are out for the Phillies. When you also consider the fact that Roy Halladay and C.J. Wilson will be taking the mound for their respective teams, that should be enough of a reason to go with the under here.
