The Daily Gambling Fix 5/25/11 — Vida Guerra
The Game: Oklahoma City Thunder @ Dallas Mavericks
The Reason: With a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter of Game 4, the Thunder had their opportunity to pull even in their series with the Mavs. They blew that opportunity, allowing Dallas to go on a 17-2 run in the final five minutes of regulation, before losing the game in overtime. That loss was likely enough to demoralize a young Thunder team. Look for the older, more experienced Mavericks to close out their Western Conference Finals series tonight in a relatively easy fashion, as they should cover the 6.5-point spread in the process.
The Game: Oakland A’s @ Los Angeles Angels
The Reason: The A’s have won four of the last five games between these two teams. Tonight they send Trevor Cahill to the mound. He is currently 6-1 this season with a 1.79 ERA. He has also won four of his last five starts against the Angels, allowing no earned runs in his last two starts and only four earned runs in his last 35 innings against them. Look for Cahill to dominate the Angels once again as he and the A’s should come out of this one with the win.
2011 Record: (98-92-3), This Week: (2-2), Last Week: (5-5)
