Maxim Lapierre Taunts Patrice Bergeron With A Finger To The Mouth (Video)
At the conclusion of the first period in Game One of the Stanley Cup finals, we all witnessed the Vancouver Canucks’ Alex Burrows take a bit out of the finger of the Bruins’ Patrice Bergeron. Boston fans cried for a suspension, while Canucks fans questioned what Bergeron’s finger was doing in Burrows’ mouth in the first place. In the end, the NHL decided not to suspend Burrows, and he made the Bruins pay in a big way on Saturday night, scoring two goals, including the game-winner, and assisting on another during Vancouver’s 3-2 overtime victory.
If watching Burrows avoid a suspension and lead the Canucks a 2-0 series lead was like sprinkling salt in the wound of the Bruins’ players and fans, watching Maxim Lapierre taunt Bergeron with a finger to the mouth with about five minutes remaining in the third period must have felt a lot like jumping into the Dead Sea with a thousand open wounds on their body.
Here is a look at Lapierre’s taunt. We’ll see if the Bruins can respond during Game 3 tonight at the TD Gardens.
