The Daily Gambling Fix 6/9/11 — Rali Ivanova
The Game: Atlanta Braves @ Florida Marlins
The Reason: The Braves have won five of their last seven on the road and they will look to complete the three-game sweep of the Marlins tonight. Florida has lost five in a row and they will send Chris Volstad to the mound. He is 2-5 with a 5.67 ERA this season. Jurrjens gets the start for the Atlanta, as he looks to improve his 7-2 record and 1.75 ERA. With a decisive edge on the mound, we expect the Braves to complete the sweep of the slumping Marlins tonight.
The Game: Boston Red Sox @ New York Yankees
The Reason: Tonight’s starting pitchers, Josh Beckett and C.C. Sabathia, have already squared off twice this season and the Red Sox won both games. Much of that has to do with the fact that Beckett has dominated the Yankees batters, allowing no runs against in 14 innings of work. The Sox have won their last six in a row against New York. Look for them to keep that streak alive with another win tonight.
2011 Record: (109-102-4), This Week: (3-3), Last Week: (6-4)
