The Daily Gambling Fix 6/20/11 — Linda Song
The Game: San Diego Padres @ Boston Red Sox
The Reason: The Red Sox have won 13 of their last 15 games and five of their last six at home. They average a league-high 5.37 runs per game. Tonight they will be up against the San Diego Padres, who are winless in their last five games and have been averaging a league-worst 3.32 runs per games. Look for the Red Sox bats to easily outscore the offensively inept Padres as they should be able to win this game by at least two runs.
The Game: Los Angeles Angels @ Florida Marlins
The Reason: After a rough May, Jared Weaver bounced back in June with two wins and only five runs allowed in 23 2/3 innings over three starts. As for Marlins starter Anibal Sanchez, he is currently posting a solid 3.02 ERA in 16 starts. Both teams are averaging under four runs per game and with two of their better pitchers on the mound, you can expect to see a low scoring game in Florida tonight.
