The Daily Gambling Fix 6/27/11 — Whitney Rose
The Game: Kansas City Royals @ San Diego Padres
The Reason: The Royals have gone over in 10 of their last 14 games on the road, while the Padres have gone over the total in five of their last seven overall. Both of today’s starting pitchers are boasting an ERA well over 4.00, with Jeff Francis at 4.76 and Matt Latos at 4.22. The Royals are averaging a solid 4.38 runs per game, while allowing just under five runs against per game. Look for both teams to put some runs on the board in this game, as it should go over the rather low total.
The Game: Washington Nationals @ Los Angeles Angels
The Reason: The Nationals have won 13 of their last 15 games and five of their last six on the road. Tonight they send John Lannan to the mound, and they have won in each of his last three starts. As for the Angels starter, Ervin Santana, he has lost each of his last three starts and his current record of 3-8 is not all that intriguing. Look for the Nats to continue to roll as they should be able to get to Santana and come out with the win in this game.
2011 Record: (123-111-5), Last Week: (7-3)
