Friendly Soccer Match Between Lebanon And Kuwait Turns Violent (Video)
Those who showed up to watch a friendly soccer match between Lebanon and Kuwait almost witnessed a war break out on the pitch. And for those who believe that statement is an over-exaggeration, let me ask you this: When was the last time you saw the military firing warning shots into the air during a soccer game?
They were required to do just that when tempers flared late in the game with Kuwait leading Lebanon by a score of 6-0. After several players threw kicks and punches at one another on the pitch, it seemed as though order had been restored, but as both teams retreated to their dressing rooms, the fighting recommenced, causing the military officers in attendance to fire several warning shots into the air.
As far as we can tell, no players or birds were seriously injured during the melee.
