The Daily Gambling Fix 7/6/11 — Bailey Knox
The Game: Colorado Rockies @ Atlanta Braves
The Reason: The Braves enter tonight’s game looking to remain perfect against the Rockies this season. They won each of the last two meetings by at least two runs and they send Jair Jurrjens and his 1.89 ERA to the mound. Jurrjens is 11-3 on the season and has won each of his last three starts. As for Rockies starter Aaron Cook, he has a 4.65 ERA and has lost each of his last three starts. Look for Jurrjens to dominate as the Braves come away with the win and cover the spread on the runline.
The Game: Seattle Mariners @ Oakland A’s
The Reason: The Mariners and the A’s each average 3.40 and 3.47 runs per game, respectively, while giving up 3.43 and 3.63 runs against. The Mariners have gone under in their last five straight, and the A’s have gone under in 10 if their last 13. Starters Jason Vargas and Guillermo Moscoso have ERA’s of 3.57 and 2.48, respectively, an both have watched their last three starts go under the total. Look for runs to once again be hard to come by between these two teams as this game should fall under the total.
2011 Record: (131-114-6), This Week: (1-0-1), Last Week: (7-3)
