The Daily Gambling Fix 7/7/11 — Kim Lee
The Game: Chicago Cubs @ Washington Nationals
The Reason: The Nationals have won four of their last five overall and 15 of their last 18 at home. As for the Cubs, they have lost five in a row and five of their last six on the road. The Nationals have also won all three of the meetings between these two teams this season. Look for Washington to complete the four-game sweep of the Cubs tonight as they should come away with another victory.
The Game: Seattle Mariners @ Los Angeles Angels
The Reason: Six is an awfully low total, but not when you consider the starting pitchers in this game. For the Angels, it will be Jered Weaver getting the nod. His 1.92 ERA is the best in the American League. He has allowed one run or less in his last four starts and has allowed over two runs against only once in his last eight starts. As for the Mariners, they will send Doug Fister to the mound. He has a 3-9 record this season, despite posting a solid 3.02 ERA. The reason for his poor record is his league-worst run support average of 2.51. The Mariners have also gone under in their last five games, while the Angels have gone under in five of their last seven. Look for a low-scoring game to unfold tonight at Angel Stadium.
2011 Record: (133-114-6), This Week: (3-0-1), Last Week: (7-3)
