To every baseball fan who has ever wished the worst upon an umpire following a game-breaking blown call, the following video of umpire John Hirschbeck taking a ball to the groin during yesterday’s game between the Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates should help provide you with some closure.
Hirschbeck remained on the ground for several minutes, but was able to remain in the game and complete his duties behind home plate.
