Chad Reed Survives High-Flying Motocross Crash, Finishes Race (Video)
Over the past couple of weeks we have seen several Tour de France riders suffer grueling crashes, only to get back up on their bikes and finish the stage with their faces and bodies bloodied and scared. That must have inspired motocross racer Chad Reed, who was involved in a frightening crash of his own at the Lucas Oil Motocross Championship’s Spring Creek National in Millville, Minnesota on Saturday.
During the opening lap of the second 450 Class moto, Reed took the lead, only to lose control off a jump and crash 50 feet onto the ground below. After remaining on the ground for a few minutes, he was able to get back up and fight his way back to 14th place out of 35 riders. Thanks to that courageous effort, Reed would finish in 5th overall at the end of the event, helping him maintain his series points lead.
Here is a look at Reed’s high-flying crash.
