The Stat Line Of The Night — 7/20/11 — Clayton Kershaw
It is well known throughout the Majors that when Tim Lincecum is on the mound for the San Francisco Giants, the opposition isn’t going to be providing their pitcher with much run support. That was the case for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw yesterday afternoon, but luckily for him and his team, one run would be all that they would need.
Kershaw was lights out, allowing only three hits and one walk through eight innings of shutout baseball. He would also strike out a season-high 12 batters and Dioner Navaro’s solo home run in the seventh inning would hold up for the only run of the game, as Kershaw earned his 11th win of the season to go along with “The Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, July 20, 2011.
