Padres’ Orlando Hudson Stretchered Off After Crashing Into The Wall (Video)
Orlando Hudson is know for his great defensive work on the diamond. During his career he has won four Gold Glove Awards and provided us with plenty of web gems. Yesterday afternoon his stellar defensive work was on display once again as he made a terrific diving catch in foul territory behind first base, but that beautiful play was followed by a nasty crash into the wall, leaving the Padres’ second baseman motionless on the ground.
Hudson was momentarily unconscious and had to be stretchered off the field, but hours later he was walking around the visiting team’s clubhouse at Sun Life Stadium, albeit, with the brace still on his neck. He was later taken to a local hospital for precautionary measures, but is expected to rejoin the team during their four-game series in Philadelphia.
Here is another look at the frightening incident.
