Sport Recife Keeper Delivers Kung-Fu Kick To Back Of Opponent’s Neck (Video)
Something tells me that someone might have to die in order for us to see kung-fu kicks eliminated from the game of soccer.
It almost appeared as though that fatality would occur during a match between Vasco da Gama and Sport Recife at the BH Cup U-19 tournament in Brazil on Monday. It was then that Sport Recife goalkeeper Gustavo delivered a vicious kung-fu kick to the back of Elivelton’s neck, dropping the Vasco de Gama player to the ground like a sack of potatoes. The altercation began when a Sport Recife player was shoved by several Vasco players after telling one of their fallen teammates to get back to his feet, and it ended with Elivelton being stretchered off the field and taken to the hospital for observation. Reports have since indicated that he did not suffer any fractures and is expected to be okay.
Anyone who believes that humans have a responsibility to show respect for others and act in a civilized manner will probably agree with me when I say that Gustavo should be charged for this violent attack. The police are currently investigating the matter, but in the meantime, Gustavo was cut from his team before he could even leave the stadium.
Here is a look at the attack that cost the keeper his job and could land him behind bars.
