The Daily Gambling Fix 7/27/11 — Mindi Smith
The Game: Arizona Diamondbacks @ San Diego Padres
The Reason: The Diamondbacks have won four of their last five overall and seven of their last ten against the Padres. Starter Ian Kennedy is 11-3 on the season and has won his last three starts. He also won three of his four starts against San Diego last season. As for the Padres, they have lost four of their last five games and although their starter , Cory Luebke, has a solid 1.86 ERA, he has received little run support, losing two of his last three starts. Look for the D-Backs to get the job done tonight in California.
The Game: Seattle Mariners @ New York Yankees
The Reason: The Mariners bats have been terrible this season, averaging a league-worst 3.26 runs per game. In their last three games against the Yankees they have managed a combined five runs. Don’t expect them to score much tonight. As for the Yankees, they will be up against Felix Hernandez, who has dominated them throughout his career. Hernandez has beat the Yanks in each of his last five starts against them and has allowed only one run or less in four of those games. The Yanks have also gone under in eight of their last 12. Look for them to go under the total again tonight.
2011 Record: (146-126-8), This Week: (1-2), Last Week: (6-4)
