Nyjer Morgan’s Alter Ego Gives A Rather Strange Post-Game Interview (Video)
With the bases loaded and the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning during yesterday night’s crucial NL Central battle between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers, Nyjer Morgan but his Brewers up for good with a clutch bases-clearing double.
With no outs, Morgan drove Chris Carpenter’s 1-1 pitch into the gap in center field. That is how a regular person would describe the play, but anyone who knows Morgan’s alter egos, Tony Plush, or in this case, Tony Gumbo, know that they are anything but regular people. So rather than simply providing us with your typical “I was waiting on a good pitch and when I got it I drove it into the outfield” explanation, he talked about “plush-dementals” and “tickling the ball into the outfield” during this bizarre post-game interview.
