Yadier Molina Showers Home Plate Umpire With Spit (Video)

by: JamieD On  Wednesday, August 3, 2011

When the St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers went into extra innings during their game at Miller Park last night, it appeared as though the late night was making Yadir Molina cranky, while home plate umpire Rob Drake was getting tired and probably just wanted to go home.  So when these two conflicting attitudes clashed in the top of the tenth inning, it turned out to be quite the scene, to say the least.

It all started when Drake called Molina out on a third strike pitch that was clearly inside.  That was enough to set the Cards’ catcher off, as he showered Drake with spit while cursing him out face-to-face.

Luckily, the grounds crew at Miller Park wasn’t required to bring out the rain tarp during Molina’s brief shower and the Cards eventually earned the victory in the 11th inning.

Here is a look at Molina showering Drake with expletives and saliva.
