It Was Raining Sunflower Seeds In The Brewers’ Dugout (Video)
Gatorade showers have become synonymous with championship celebrations, but it appears as though Pittsburgh Pirates starter James McDonald is trying to start a new trend.
After recording the final out in the seventh inning, McDonald’s was given high-fives all around in the dugout, as his night on the mound was over. He handed his bullpen a 6-4 lead, and in his eyes, that was enough of a reason to celebrate with a self-Gatorade shower.
While the celebration was humorous and all, it may have come just a bit too early, as the Pirates bullpen gave up three runs in the top of the eighth inning, blowing their two-run lead, en route to the 7-6 loss.
Let this be a lesson to you all. Never celebrate with a Gatorade shower before the game is officially over. You would think that the 26-year-old McDonald would know this after watching the Bluegrass Miracle.
I guess not.
