The Reason: I understand Texas plays in a sandbox and both offenses are loaded, but over 10 runs is a little much for a pitching matchup of John Lackey vs. Colby Lewis. Now, Lackey hasn’t been very good in August (5.33 ERA over four starts), but Lewis has been (2.92). Take that into consideration, as well as the fact that Boston has only played in four games that have seen over 10 runs in the month of August and Texas has only seen three in the last three weeks, when you pick the under for this line.

The Game: Chicago White Sox @ Los Angeles Angels

The Pick: Under 7

The Reason: Mark Buehrle has allowed more than three runs just once since April and the White Sox have played in games of the under variety in over half of Buehrle’s starts. Ervin Santana is going for the Angels and he has been killing it since the beginning of June, rocking just a 2.11 ERA since June 4. In that time span, the Angels have not played in a game over 7 runs during a Santana start.
