The Daily Gambling Fix 9/2/11 — Karla
The Game: Arizona Diamondbacks @ San Francisco Giants
The Reason: Giants starter Matt Cain is 3-1 against the D-Backs this season, but he has posted a rather mediocre 4.50 ERA in those starts. That is bad news for the Giants, who have failed to score more than four runs in each of their last eight games. Arizona has also been one of the hottest teams in baseball, winning their last nine games in a row. We expect them to continue to roll, as they come away with the win tonight.
The Game: Oakland Raiders @ Seattle Seahawks
The Reason: Through three preseason games, the Oakland Raiders have managed to score only 41 points, an average of only 13.7 points per game. As for the Seahawks, they haven’t been much better offensively, recording only 51 points in their three games (an average of 17 points per game). Whether the first team offenses for both teams play, or not, shouldn’t make a difference, as there isn’t much to fear when Jason Campbell or Tavaris Jackson are on the field. Look for the defenses to dominate as this game goes under the total.
2011 Record: (162-154-8), This Week: (2-6), Last Week: (3-7)
