Stat Line Of The Night — 9/6/11 — David Murphy

by: JamieD On  Wednesday, September 7, 2011

David Murphy may wear the number seven on the back of his jersey, but four was clearly his lucky number during last night’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.  The Texas Rangers’ right fielder stepped to the plate four times during the game, recording four hits on the night along with four RBIs.   Among those four hits was a home run and two doubles, and Murphy also scored two runs of his own as he led his Rangers to the 8-0 victory.

The win, coupled with a Los Angeles Angels loss, moved the Rangers 3.5 games up on their division rivals for top spot in the AL West.  They have C.J. Wilson’s solid pitching performance and David Murphy’s bat to thank.  The latter earns our “Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, September 6, 2011.
