The Game: New Orleans Saints @ Green Bay Packers

The Pick: Packers -4.5

The Reason: Finally!  Some football to gamble on!  Here is an opening night stat for you all to consider.  Since the defending Super Bowl champions began hosting the Thursday night opener in 2004, they have won each of the past seven opening night games.  Expect that trend to continue tonight.  The Packers were the best team in the league last year, and this season their already potent offense will get Jermichael Finley and Ryan Grant back.  Drew Brees threw a career-high 22 interceptions last season.  He could be in tough against a ball-hawking Packers secondary tonight.  Look for Green Bay to win and cover the spread during what should be an exciting opening night.

The Game: U of Arizona @ Oklahoma State

The Pick: Over 66.5

The Reason: The NFL’s opening night game isn’t the only football game taking place tonight.  The NCAA also has a game scheduled, and it should be a dandy, as the high-scoring offense of Oklahoma State takes on Nick Foles and the Arizona Wildcats.  In their opening game of the season, OSU scored 61 points against Louisiana-Lafayette, but they also gave up 34.  They should be able to put plenty of points on the board once again tonight, and we expect AU quarterback Nick Foles, who posted 412 yards and five TDs in his opener, to put points on the board as well during what should be a high scoring game tonight.

2011 Record: (165-157-8), This Week: (2-2), Last Week: (3-7)
