Stat Line Of The Night — 9/13/11 — Dustin Pedroia
Stat Line Of The Night — 9/14/11 — Roy Halladay
The Philadelphia Phillies needed just one more win to clinch a playoff berth and what better man to have on the mound while they attempt to punch their ticket to October than Roy Halladay. The Phillies’ ace entered the game in the top four in wins, strikeouts and ERA in the National League, and he would improve his numbers in each of those categories following a 1-0 complete-game shutout victory over the Houston Astros.
Halladay went the distance for just his first complete-game shutout of the season, as he allowed only six hits and one walk while striking out seven batters. The impressive outing lowered Halladay’s ERA to 2.34 and gave him his 18th win of the season. It also earned him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, September 14, 2011.
