Stat Line Of The Night — 9/14/11 — Roy Halladay
Stat Line Of The Night — 9/15/11 — Cliff Lee
After taking the first game of their double-header against the Florida Marlins, the Philadelphia Phillies could only manage one run over the first nine innings of their second game. However, that one run appeared as though it would be enough to earn the victory, as Cliff Lee cruised through the first 26 outs of the game, recording 12 strikeouts while allowing only one hit up to that point. However, the fifth hit for the Marlins on the night would make its way over the outfield fence at Citizens Bank Park, tying the game at 1-1.
Cliff Lee’s final numbers on the night would see him pitch nine solid innings, allowing only five hits and one earned run, while striking out 12. The Phils’ ended up winning the game in the tenth inning by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately for Lee, he didn’t stick around long enough to earn his 17th victory of the season, but what his performance did earn him was “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, September 15, 2011.
