Fernando Torres Missed A Wide Open Net Yesterday (Video)

During an epic Premier League match between Manchester United and Chelsea on Sunday, Blues striker Fernando Torres provided those in attendance at Old Trafford with an epic miss.

With Manchester United leading by a score of 3-1 late in the game, Torres broke in alone, danced around the Man U keeper, and found himself face-to-face with a wide open net, only to fire the ball several feet wide.  Had Torres simply slid the ball into the back of the net, as you would expect a world class player like himself to do, it would have given Chelsea an opportunity to salvage the away draw with the Premier League’s top team.  Instead, what the Spanish international provided was one of the most expensive misses in soccer history – a £50-million miss, to be exact.

Here is another look at the miss, accompanied by a rather fitting soundtrack.
