The Daily Gambling Fix 9/20/11 — Laura Lee
The Game: Texas Rangers @ Oakland A’s
The Reason: The Rangers continue to roll, having won six of their last seven games. Tonight they take on the Oakland A’s who they have beaten in 10 of their last 11 matchups. Rangers starter Derek Holland is 14-5 on the season, while the A’s have lost their last four games when Rich Harden gets the start. Look for the Rangers to continue their dominance over the A’s as they come away with the win tonight.
The Game: San Francisco Giants @ Los Angeles Dodgers
The Reason: It isn’t often that I would take the under on a line that is 5.5, but it is hard not to take it when Clayton Kershaw and Tim Lincecum are squaring off. Kershaw has faced the Giants five times this season and in four of those games they failed to get a single earned run off him. As for Lincecum, he has allowed only five earned runs against in four starts against the Dodgers this season (27.1 innings). These two pitchers have also faced off against each other three times this season, with each of the games finishing with a total of three runs or less. Look for another very low scoring affair to unfold tonight in Los Angeles.
2011 Record: (176-161-9), This Week: (0-0-1), Last Week: (8-2)
