High School Quarterback Throws Miraculous Touchdown (Video)
In football, one play can often change the momentum of an entire game. Sometimes that one play can be an interception for a touchdown. And in the case of a high school game between North Haven (Connecticut) and New Haven Hillhouse High, it was a near sack that North Haven quarterback Jalon White somehow turned into a miracle touchdown that would prove to be the game-changing play.
Trailing 19-7 in the third quarter, North Haven drove the ball into the red zone and were faced with a third-and-goal from the North Haven 15-yard line. It appeared as though they were about to walk away with no more than a field goal, as White found himself trapped in the arms of a defender and only inches away from hitting the ground. That was when he decided to improvise, as he tossed the ball blindly into the air, and was lucky enough to have it fall into the hands of fellow receiver Joe Burr, who proceeded to cross the goal line for the touchdown.
North Haven would score once more in the game, capping off their incredible comeback with a 21-19 victory. They have their thrill-seeking quarterback to thank, as his daring pass was not only the turning point of this game, but it could also be the turning point in North Haven’s season.
