The Game: North Carolina State @ Cincinnati Bearcats

The Pick: Cincinnati -7

The Reason: The Bearcats’ offense has averaged 51.3 points through three games this season (4th in the nation), and they will be up against a North Carolina defense that has allowed over 400 yards against twice, to below-average teams in Wake Forest and Liberty. They will also be missing at least three key defensive starters. Look for Bearcats senior quarterback Zach Collaros to put plenty of points on the board through the air and the Wolfpack should have a tough time keeping up and covering the seven-point spread…

The Game: San Francisco Giants @ Los Angeles Dodgers

The Pick: Giants -110

The Reason: The Giants have been on a roll as of late, winning nine of their last ten games.  It will be tough for them to squeak into the playoffs, but as long as they are in contention, they should continue to play hard.  Tonight they send Madison Bumgarner to the mound.  After a disappointing start to the season, he has turned things around in a big way, winning his last five starts in a row.  He has also beaten the Dodgers in his last three starts against them, including an 8-1 victory earlier this month against tonight’s starter, Hiroki Kuroda.  Look for similar results tonight as the Giants come away with the victory.

2011 Record: (179-162-9), This Week: (3-2-1), Last Week: (8-2)
