The Daily Gambling Fix 9/23/11 — Amanda
The Game: Boston Red Sox @ New York Yankees
The Reason: The Yankees may have already clinched a post-season birth and top spot in the AL East, but make no mistake about it, they would love nothing more than to eliminate the Red Sox from post-season contention. They will have that opportunity this weekend, beginning tonight. The Yanks have won four of their last five overall and 10 of their last 12 at home, while the Sox have lost five of their last six overall and their last five straight on the road. The Sox have had quite a bit of success against the Yanks this season, but we expect that to change tonight as Boston’s struggles continue with yet another loss.
The Game: Oakland A’s vs. Los Angeles Angels
The Reason: Oakland has gone under in four of their last six games, while the Angels have gone under in four of their last five. A’s starter Gio Gonzalez has allowed only two runs against in his last three starts against the Angels, while Los Angeles starter Jered Weaver has allowed only four runs against in his four starts against the A’s this season. Look for few runs to be scored tonight as this game goes under the total.
2011 Record: (180-163-9), This Week: (4-3-1), Last Week: (8-2)
