The Daily Gambling Fix 10/6/11 — Mayra Veronica
The Game: Philadelphia Flyers @ Boston Bruins
The Reason: After winning the Stanley Cup last season, some may expect the Bruins to experience a bit of a hang-over and get off to a slow start. While that could end up being the case, we don’t think it will happen tonight, as Boston should be fired up by a raucous home crowd and the sight of their Stanley Cup banner being raised to the rafters should be enough to energize their team and get them the victory over the new-look Flyers, who will likely take some time getting used to their new line-up before having any success.
The Game: Montreal Canadiens @ Toronto Maple Leafs
The Reason: These two bitter rivals kick off the 2011-12 NHL season and with Carey Price and James Reimer between the pipes, we expect it to be a low scoring affair. Eight of the last ten games between these two teams have gone under the total, including each of the last five games in Toronto. Look for both teams to play strong defensive hockey and keep tonight’s game under the 5.5-goal total.
2011 Record: (188-171-9), This Week: (2-4), Last Week: (5-4)
