The Game: USC @ California

The Pick: USC -3

The Reason: USC has won the last seven meetings between these two teams, and they have covered the spread in five of the last six against the Golden Bears.  Neither team has been all that good against the spread this season, with both teams posting 2-3 records ATS.  However, USC is 4-1 on the season, and we expect them to continue their dominance over Cal, as they come away with the win and the cover in this Thursday night matchup.

The Game: Winnipeg Jets @ Chicago Blackhawks

The Pick: Blackhawks -1.5 +150

The Reason: After all of the buildup over the summer, Winnipeg finally hosted their first regular season NHL game in 15 years and it couldn’t have been a bigger disappointment, as they were pounded by the Montreal Canadiens, 5-1.  They have had plenty of time to correct whatever issues they had in their home opener, but the fact of the matter is they simply don’t have a very good team.  That should be evident once again tonight as they travel to Chicago to take on a Blackhawks team that is even better than their previous opponent.  Look for the Hawks to walk away with the easy victory tonight.
