The Daily Gambling Fix 10/17/11 — Daisy Marie
The Game: Colorado Avalanche @ Toronto Maple Leafs
The Reason: Both the Colorado Avalanche and the Toronto Maple Leafs have been filling the next at a high rate thus far this season, as they are averaging 3.40 and 3.67 goals per game, respectively. The Avs’ offense has been especially hot as of late, having scored a combined 13 goals in their last two games. Look for the offenses of both teams to continue rolling tonight at the Air Canada Center, as this game goes over the 5.5-goal total.
The Game: Pittsburgh Penguins @ Winnipeg Jets
The Reason: The Winnipeg Jets have lost their first three games of the season, and while many may think they are due for a win, I’d argue that they simply aren’t a very good team and will continue to have a tough time beating teams that are much better than they are. Among those teams that are much better than them are the Pittsburgh Penguins, who have won nine of the last ten games against the Jets (dating back to when they were the Atlanta Thrashers one year ago). The Pens had plenty of success when they kicked off the season on a West Coast road trip through Canada, and we expect them to have success when they travel north of the boarder once again tonight.
